I only know of one system, one institution, one group that will not fail or be destroyed from any opposition or resistance and that is the Bride and Body of Christ.

Planned Parenthood, decriminalized abortion, legalized same sex marriages, sodomy, sexual licentiousness, pornography; all exist because they are not being opposed. If it were opposed it would not be widely accepted and tolerated in our culture. It definitely wouldn’t be called good by the overall population. It would be in fact a violation of law and societal morality.

I also only know of one power mighty enough to oppose the wholesale slaughter of innocent children. I only know of one authority that can objectively declare these to be evils. I am only aware of one vehicle which God has chosen to work through on this earth who, despite appearances of frailty and small numbers, can conquer sin in this world and impact the majority for the better. That vehicle that God has chosen is His Church, His Ekklesia. They have the authority of His Word, the power of the Holy Spirit to understand and discern spiritual things, and have been made a new pure creation in Christ. They have been born again and their life is not their own. They live and breath to serve Christ in everything they say and do.

Christ said this the first time He spoke of His Church:

“The gates of Hell will not prevail against it”

By proclaiming His word, by proclaiming His gospel, by proclaiming Christ as King and Savior, by walking as children of light and exposing evil, by practicing true and undefiled religion, by confessing our sin and walking in faith we can, and will, conquer the evils of this earth.

I am not only speaking of a future war in which Christ will lock all evil away forever but also a current battle now.

My concern for the 70-80% of Americans who claim to be followers of Christ is that they seem to be deserters. They seem to have fled the battlefield because they don’t truly trust in the one leading the charge. They seemed to have all chosen their own personal gifting or special calling not requiring them to count the cost. They don’t believe their resurrected eternal King when He says:

“The Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.”

“Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him.

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith. Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”
Obey your Lord. You are to be casting down every high thing that exalts itself above the knowledge of God. You are to destroy every high place that Satan attempts to establish. You are to walk as children of light exposing the evil deeds of darkness. You are to rescue those being oppressed. You are to establish justice. You are to care for the fatherless and widows. You are to make disciples who keep the commandments. You are to follow Christ to a victory that has already been proclaimed and which can not be lost.
Whose side are you on?

And please don’t try to dismiss this with something explaining that your calling is to be a nurse on the back lines helping the injured. Or perhaps that you are a cook who brings the occasional hot meal to the frontlines. Or perhaps even that you are the much needed support from the home country.

Christ has given us all different gifts, this is true. He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,

the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;  “until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.”
Are you perhaps using your gifts as a means to justify yourself, rather than build up the body for this work?

Does your assembly look like week after week of building up? Are you like fishermen who know all sorts of things of fishing but have never actually put the bait into the water and gone fishing?

Are you in this battle at all?

Or perhaps you are like many others who are wondering where the called, the chosen, and the faithful are? If one came to you and, even wrongly, called you to these love and good works would you reject them for doing it wrong?
