Today is Memorial Day when we remember those who died serving in the armed forces. I personally served 12 years and I swore an oath to defend against enemies both foreign and domestic.

Today as a servant of Christ, a citizen of the United States and a veteran; I stood up, along with a few others, to be a voice for the 58+ million children who have been systematically slaughtered by our nation. As far as we are aware no one else in Sumner County called out for an end to abortion. No one else raised their voices and urged the citizens of this country to not allow all the soldiers who have died fighting for freedom to have died in vain.

Many may disagree with doing something like this on a day such as Memorial Day. To them I say every day is the day to stand against this evil until it is abolished. The fact that one would disagree with fighting this evil any day is a personal testament to their own apathy.

We are at war. “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” (2 Corinthians 10:3-6 KJV)

“Many will ask if they are called to step into this battle, and most will say no. The only question you have to ask yourself to figure out if you are called to be a voice and take a stand against abortion is, “Am I alive?” The fact that you are living in a nation that systematically slaughters thousands of her citizens a day is compulsion enough to rise up against this evil. The fact that you are alive means that you are called to love your neighbor as yourself, as God commands us to do.”

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
(Ephesians 6:10-18 KJV)
